Look of the Day: Overthink Much?

Hey lovelies! Hope you're having a great day and really making the most of those last summer bits!

Here's an outfit I wore a couple of days ago - totally random pieces thrown together that somehow seem to work. I'm all for thoughtful dressing but sometimes I prefer not to overthink :)

Look of the Day: Beachy Casual

Hey, I'm back home and finally able to sort through the pics, which we took a lot! I might have been a lazy blogger these days but I sure did document most of my outfits. Aside from the ones I wore to dinners and parties the rest is pretty casual, because who wants to wear heels in a 35° heat? Not me :)

We took these pictures on our first day at the beach and I'm glad I spent previous days by the pool because otherwise my skin would look very sad :) I'm a huge fan of Vespas, and since this baby was our transport for the week, I just had to take a couple of pictures in front of it.

I still have a couple outfits from Barcelona, so stay tuned!

Look of the Day: Happy Belated 4th of July!!!

Hopefully it's still 4th of July at least somewhere :) Hey, my American readers! I know you're out there (Google stats never lie, right?)! Happy belated 4th of July and I hope you had a great one!

Here's an outfit I wore on one of the days in Norway, when we went exploring a nature museum in the town we stayed in.

P.S. The fact that I'm wearing the star spangled banner on my tee in my almost 4th of July post is purely coincidental :)

Picnic at the Lake

Even though Norway is a much colder country than anywhere else I've been in Europe, on some days the weather was amazingly warm and sunny, so we couldn't pass on going to a picnic to a picturesque Lake Mjøsa, Norway's biggest lake, which is only 15 minutes walk from the place we're staying at (in a little town called Gjøvik).

FROM CROATIA WITH LOVE

Croatia has always been on my bucket list and for one reason or another I'd never made it. This time round, I knew I had to make time for this Adriatic jewel, and am I thankful I did!

Flying from Australia, then on to France and then ferrying across from Italy, Croatia did take a bit of effort to reach, but It is such an amazing place, I'm afraid my words and pictures hardly do this incredible place justice.

I write you from Hvar Island - an absolutely breath-taking slice of paradise, about 2 hours via Ferry from mainland Split. The original plan was to say five nights on Hvar, but I've absolutely fallen in love with this place, so I've decided to extend my stay.

Hvar is such a dynamic place, it has arguably some of the most pristine, crystal clear waters, I've ever had the privilege of seeing, and caters to all all that you would want in an island holiday.

When I travel, I tend to steer clear of major hotel chains, invariably all hotels end up looking the same throughout the world, so I tend to opt for accommodation which allows me to absorb more of a sense of place.

Hvar has many great options - my choice - a family run apartment right on the top of a beautiful hillside overlooking and only a short stroll from Old Town.

As always, the other half has picked himself up a scoter to get us around the island, and in my opinion is a fantastic way of uncovering some incredible hidden and secluded swimming spots - just like this one.

Here are few of my own Hvar recommendations:

EAT

There are so many dining options to cater to all tastes and budgets - an absolute stand out meal of mine has to be at a tiny sea-side restaurant called Gego, about a 15 minute scooter ride from Old Town. Hands down the most amazing seafood - I ordered the Lobster spaghetti - best I've had anywhere in the world!

DRINK

If you're after a few drinks, good music and a great sea-side experience, Hula Hula bar - is a must.

SWIM

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to amazing swimming spots - there are plenty of beaches along the coast-line. If you have the chance though, I'd recommend hiring a scooter and heading away from the main swimming areas to uncover amazing and mainly secluded swimming spots. Zarace is my favourite!

I'm here in Hvar for a short while longer, before exploring another Croatian Island, Krocula.

Sunday Cravings: Cute Shorts for Summer

The only thing that stops me from wearing shorts every day is my pale white legs. I haven't had time to get me some tan yet, but when I do, I'll be unstoppable :) I already have like a dozen different kinds of shorts coming my way from several online stores. We have at least three months of heat ahead of us and this year I wanna be prepared :) Check out what else I found online and tell me if you like any of these!
